GARY LYDEN

LIBERAL- A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday for Gary Wayne Lyden, 59, Liberal, who died at his home on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018. The celebration will be held at the home of his sister.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include one son, Joshua Levi Lyden, Liberal; two stepsons, Truman Metcalf, Liberal and Tony Winthrow, Pittsburg, Kan.; three stepdaughters, Nicole Metcalf, Liberal, Ruth Metcalf, Liberal and Niki Winthrow, Pittsburg, Kan.; his mother, Carol Ann Beck, Pittsburg, Kan.; a brother, Jeremy Willard Lyden, Humbolt, Kan.; a sister, Diana and husband George Viets, Pittsburg, Kan.; two grandchildren, Ayra Metcalf and Tyr Metcalf and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Winthrow and his father, Lester Lyden.

Mr. Lyden was born Sept. 1, 1959, in Pittsburg, Kan., to Lester Willard and Carol Ann (Mallory) Lyden and attended school in Pittsburg and Pratt, Kan. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and had worked in the oil business and had owned and operated his own flooring business. He enjoyed making Native American Bone Art and sharing it with friends and family.
