LAMAR- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home for Sallie Helena Phoebe Adams Cheshire, 89, Lamar, who died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9 a.m.

Survivors include Ann Cheshire, Carolyn Stewart, Jewell Daniel and Tracy Cheshire; grandchildren, Brennon Cheshire, Cami Cheshire, Nathaniel Cheshire, Benjamin Cheshire, Chaison Cheshire, Sean Stewart, Michael Stewart, Holly Daniel, Kelly Ritzman, Anton Cheshire, Rose Cheshire and Clyde Cheshire and great-grandchildren, Christopher Cheshire, Elijah Cheshire, John Cheshire, Malachi Cheshire, Kaylee Cheshire, Kessia, Dylan Whittled, Travis Dayton, Kaleb Whittled and Braylee Whittled.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Clyde Cheshire Sr., two brothers, James and Robert Adams and a son, Clifton Clyde Cheshire Jr.

Mrs. Cheshire was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Aberdeen, Miss., to Thomas Peter and Helena Mae Jayne Adams. As a young lady she moved to Houston, Texas and became a secretary. She met and married her one and only love, Clifton Clyde Cheshire. They married May 7, 1951, had five children and eventually moved to a farm in the rural Lamar area. After her husband’s early death she moved to Lamar and worked as a florist. She enjoyed her yard, a good conversation, a fun game and drink of real southern ice tea. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all.
