Karen Joyce Slinker, age 76, of Springfield, Missouri died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Mercy Hospital – Springfield.
Karen was born November 24, 1942, in Lamar, Missouri to Harry Felix “Bill” Davis and Minnie Georgia (Frieden) Davis and was a 1960 graduate of Lamar High School. On May 15, 1959 she married Bob Slinker and together they raised two children. Karen worked for many years as a Respiratory Therapist and had been active in Bridge Clubs, Beta Sigma Phi, the “Deer Club” and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Karen leaves behind her husband Bob Slinker after 59 years of marriage; one son, Derek (Diane) Slinker, Branson West, Missouri; one daughter, Rochele Woodard, Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Stan Davis, Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Chelsea (Whitney) Russell-Ice, Kimber (Sean) Reid, Hanna (Kindall) Martin, and Madeline Slinker; two great-grandchildren Margot Russell-Ice and Stella Reid and three nephews, Rick Davis, James Davis and Marvin Davis.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at Daniel Funeral Home, with burial following in Lake Cemetery.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
