JASPER- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Jasper First Baptist Church for Mary Martha Condon, 95, Jasper, who died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, following a short illness. Burial will be in Waters Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, at the Jasper First Baptist Church.

Remembrances can be made to the Jasper First Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include three children, Jan VanGilder and husband Neal, Denny Condon and wife Daria and Myra VanGilder and husband Steve; six grandsons, Dusty and wife Christal, Andy and wife Megan, Travis and wife Patricia, Craig and wife Steffany, Cory and wife Elise and Colter; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Rylee, Shelby, Clayton, Cameron, William, McCormick, Zinnia, Eliza, Draven, Drew, Arabella Kate, Breklyn, Aspen and Gauge; a brother, Sam Etcheson and a sister, Lois Baird; a sister-in-law, Iris Osborn and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Condon was born Oct. 17, 1923, to LeRoy and Mary (Engle) Etcheson. One of eight children she grew up in the Nashville, Mo. community on the family farm. She started teaching after graduation from Jasper High School.

During World War II, she, her sister and two cousins were Rosie Riveters, working on planes in St. Louis. She returned home to continue teaching in rural schools and Jasper R-5 for a total of 38 years. While teaching, she met and married Cloyde Allen Condon. They were married 49 years when he died.

She loved her church family, her Maple family, Bingo, playing cards, line dancing and traveling.
