BOB DORSETT

SHELDON- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Robert W. “Bob” Dorsett, 83, Sheldon, who died at his home after an illness. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his three sons, Mike Dorsett and wife Connie, Kansas City, Kan., Mark and wife Linda, South Greenfield and Rob and wife Sheryl, Grove, Okla.; one daughter, Jackie Marks and husband Terry, Sheldon; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Marks, in 1999.

Mr. Dorsett was born Sept. 22, 1935, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Frank Bernard and Clara May (Moore) Dorsett. He started working as a car man for the Santa Fe Railroad, from the age of 18 until retiring in 1998. Spending time with his family was the most important thing to him.

He married Audrey May Taylor on June 30, 1954, and together they reared four children. She preceded him in death in January of 2017.
