LAMAR- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Lamar First Baptist Church for Frances Ester Gordon, 83, Lamar, who died Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Chanute, Kan.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her children, Isa Gordon-West, Lamar, David Gordon and wife Daylene, Lamar, Scott Gordon and wife Kristi, Lamar, Ralph Gordon, Dallas, Texas, Shawn Gordon and wife Brenda, Springfield and William Gordon, Edmond, Okla.; grandchildren, Kyla Ziegenhager, D.J. West, Dani Gamble, Kasie Gordon, Demi Gordon, Chelsie Bowling and husband Brandon, Charity Gardner and husband Cody, Zach Gordon and wife Cyrussia, Mark Graves and wife Elizabeth, Bethany Eaves and husband A.J., Kaitlyn Hurt and husband Stanley, Phajjia Gordon, Riddick Gordon, Dominick Gordon, Jacoby Gordon, Ashley Simpson, Keisha Hardenburger, Braden Gordon, Amanda Gordon, Mellissa Williams, Melinda Burgess, Nicholas Gordon and wife Tam, Eric Gordon and wife Michelle, John Berryman, Crystal Willet and James Berryman and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Allen Gordon; three brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Gordon was born March 17, 1935, in Chanute, Kan., to Claude Duvah and Edna Leona (Todd) Perry. She graduated from Chanute High School and received her BS degree from Pittsburg State University. In 1961 she married David Paul Gordon in Wichita, Kan., and together they reared eight children. She worked as a Certified Nurse Aide, Certified Med Tech and as a cook. She attended Lamar First Baptist Church.
