JD and Tracey Gepner are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Morgan Gepner to Colter England, son of Tom and Holly England and Jason and Kelley Walker. The wedding is planned for May 4.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger The Lamar Elks Lodge No. 2800 recently donated $1,000 to the Famous Missouri Veterans Monument, to be erected at the Barton County Memorial Park, located on the corner of 2nd and Gulf, in Lamar. The monument will recognize veterans that made a significant difference while serving in the armed services. Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger At the April 15 meeting of the Lamar City Council, Lamar resident Rocky McCulloch invited councilmen and the city administrator to take a tour of the pool facilities on Thursday, April 18, as Mason Banes with KC Gunite was going to do a walk through to see what repairs might entail. Several showed up to view the pools, as well as to hear possible solutions. Banes explained that he had to first find out if the damage was structural or plumbing related. Elaine McCulloch noted that hopes are to retain the outdoor lap pool and to redo the indoor pool so that it could serve as a children’s pool following the removal of the enclosure. Banes is to let the McCullochs, as well as the city, know what he would recommend and the cost it would entail.
