SIKESTON- A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 23, 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Lamar First Baptist Church for Jimmie Dale Combs, 78, Sikeston, who died Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Missouri Delta Community Medical Center in Sikeston. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m., at Memory Gardens in Lamar.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Sue, of the home; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Roxanna and Kevin Burns, Nyna Combs, Melissa Walters and Stephanie and Roy Colwick, all of Sikeston; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Johnnie Lee and Brenda Combs, Kansas City, Mo. and Charlie Combs, Lamar; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Denise Woodard, Tyler Combs, Ross Walters, Reid and Ashley Walters, Ainsley Colwick and Kensi Colwick; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Woodard and Quincey Woodard and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Coleen Calton and Terri Elswick.

Mr. Combs was born May 14, 1940, in Nevada, Mo., to the late Jimmie and Dorothy Alma (Plain) Combs.

He had been employed by Ditch Witch as a sales representative for many years. He later managed Downtown Amoco. He loved his hobbies of hunting, fishing, camping, manicuring his lawn, feeding his birds and his most beloved hobby was spending time with his family.

He married Marilyn Sue Whitchurch on April 17, 1962. in Miami, Okla.
