OLATHE, Kan.- Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Lockwood (Mo.) Cemetery for Helen Loraine (Donalson) Scholpp, 88, Olathe, who died Friday, March 22, 2019.

Arrangements were under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Creations, Funerals & Receptions, Olathe.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Society or to Hospice.

Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Lorence and husband Larry, Dawsonville, Ga. and Janet Kohler and husband Daryl, Olathe; four grandchildren, Brett Lorence and wife Catherine, Emily Dressler and husband James, Adam Lorence and wife Nicole and Erin Yeung and husband Kenny; 10 great-grandchildren, Millie and Max Lorence, Eliana, Aidan and Torin Dressler, Andrew and Sadie Lorence and Olivia, Bella and Lily Yeung; a sister, Betty LaFon; three stepsons, Gary Duncan and wife Dee, Gary Duncan and wife Marcia and Ed Duncan, plus a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Yonkers and Lois O’Dea.

Mrs. Scholpp was born Nov. 27, 1930, in Newport, Mo., to W. Emmit and Jaunita (Bean) Donalson. She was a Golden City High School graduate. She had worked for many years as head cook at Lockwood High School. Prior to that she worked as the secretary at Golden Business Forms and Golden City High School.

Along with her love of cooking, she also enjoyed quilting. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She volunteered many hours with the Golden City Lions Club and the VFW Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Golden City United Methodist Church before moving to Olathe, where she transferred to College Church of the Nazarene.

She married Charles W. Scholpp on Oct. 17, 1948, in Newport, Mo. He preceded her in death.
