Although some of the Easter weekend was fairly blustery, the days were bright and much warmer than they have been, making it a great time for area Easter egg hunts. Not only did the children enjoy them, but their parents and grandparents were also on hand to watch the joy on their faces as they quickly gathered up the eggs. The weekend started off on Friday with a hunt, bounce house, a bubble station and games, beginning at 12 noon at Lamar Walmart. On Saturday, the long running Lamar Elks Easter egg hunt was held at the Lamar City Park, with hot dogs served in the enclosed shelter house. What took several hours to set up was ravaged in a matter of minutes, with many taking time afterwards to see what they had in their eggs. Various prizes could be found inside the egg at all of the hunts. The egg hunts wrapped up at 3 p.m. on Sunday, with a hunt held at the Lamar Eagles Aerie. Despite the strong winds, a good sized crowd was on hand to enjoy the hunt.
