LIBERAL- A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton City Cemetery for Betty Lou (Loewe) Gilmartin, 83, Liberal, who died Saturday, June 29, 2019. Pastor Robb Hodson will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar.

Memorial donations may be given to the Barton City Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine Fast and husband Lester, Liberal and Kent Gilmartin and James Gilmartin and wife Karen, both of Lamar; grandchildren, Rachel Miller and husband Erik, Chris Wood, Brent Fast and wife Jenn, Andrea Jones and husband Rob, Amber Payne and husband Mike, April Brown and husband Tim, Austin Gilmartin and wife Alana, Heather Costley and husband Joe, Dylan Gilmartin and wife Abby and Krista Gilmartin; 12 great-grandchildren, Garrett, Delaney and Gunner Miller, Augie and Logan Fast, Rye and Emmer Jones, Justin and Copelyn Payne, Brynlee and Adalynn Brown and a baby on the way belonging to Heather and Joe Costley arriving in December; a brother, Gene Loewe and three sisters, Velma Crockett, Nadine Mayfield and Wilma Braker, all of Lamar and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Wood; a granddaughter, Melissa Wood; a daughter-in-law, Carol (Rodney) Gilmartin; two sisters and spouses, Irene Westbay and husband Harold and Edna Mae Mayfield and husband Chuck and brothers-in-law, Wayne Braker, Bobby Crockett and Delbert Mayfield.

Mrs. Gilmartin was born Oct. 17, 1935, to Paul Julius and Ethel (Smith) Loewe. She was a 1953 graduate of Lamar High School. She was a homemaker and spent endless hours making quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She married Joseph Anthony Gilmartin on Oct. 18, 1953. He died April 30, 2014.
