IDA POORE

LAMAR- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Ida Lydia Poore, 78, Lamar, who died Friday morning, Aug. 9, 2019, with her husband holding her hand. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.

Burial will be held at 2:30 pm., at the Uniontown Cemetery in Uniontown, Kan.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Poore; her daughters, Julia Burroughs and family, Kansas City and Rose Valentine and family, Lamar; her sisters, Rosie Brown, Indiana, Alice Pilcher, Nevada, Mo., Gladys Ballou, Webb City and Emma Bledsoe, El Dorado Springs.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Burdick, Jr., Bill Burdick, Edward Burdick and Earl Burdick and a sister, Beulah Brocob.

Mrs. Poore was born March 26, 1941, to Frank Lewis and Ethel (Eads) Burdick. She was the ninth out of 10 children and they all grew up in Deerfield. She loved music and taught herself to play the acoustic guitar. She married Melvin Poore in 1975 and during their marriage they traveled from the north to the south, depending on the season. She played her guitar and sang with other patrons of the parks they used.
