The Liberal Middle School Bulldogs ran the table this year, going 14-0. They won both the Western Missouri Conference title and the conference tournament, outscoring their competition 130-47 in the three tournament contests. After upsetting Dadeville in a seven over two match-up in the opening round, Golden City took on three seed Liberal in the semifinal round. Brandi Goodell's Lady Bulldogs outlasted them to advance to the title game, which they lost Saturday to Greenfield. Golden City dropped the third place game to Jasper. The Lamar Girls Swim Team competed at the Ozark Invitational on January 5. Twenty-nine teams gathered at Foster Natatorium in Springfield for one of the largest meets of the season. The Lady Tigers finished in 10th place overall in team competition out of 29 teams from throughout the state. Lamar High School Senior Samantha Capehart signed to play volleyball for Ozark Christian College on Wednesday, Jan. 9. Samantha, daughter of Stony and Dana Capehart, has played volleyball since seventh grade. According to her coach, Chelsea Griffin, she is not only a defensive specialist for the team, but also a motivator and leader. Capehart also recently won the Tiger Award in volleyball and the team placed third in Conference and second at Districts. Capehart signs to play volleyball for OCC
