Lamar Tiger Invitational held at Jeremy’s Creek

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow Liberal was one of 15 teams to take part in the Lamar Tiger Invitational at Jeremy's Creek Tuesday. Here junior Rowdy Myers (left) and classmate Bryson Overstreet jockey for position. Myers was Liberals' top finisher, taking 18th place. Overstreet was the Bulldogs second finisher, taking 25th. Max Dingman was third for the team in 34th place out of the field of 123 runners. As a team the Bulldogs took ninth.

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, May 23, for both lunch and dinner, at the Lamar City Park.

Treycen Coy, son of Matthew Coy and Angie Coy, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In his spare time Treycen likes to play football, eat, play with his brothers and sisters in his yard and mow the lawn. His favorite college team is the Oklahoma Sooners and his favorite NFL team is the Kansas City Chiefs.
