ESPN Sportscenter anchor John Anderson shows Brooke Bearden a television monitor with a clip of the improvements made at the Liberal High School softball field in Brooke's honor. Brooke suffered a stroke last fall. Doctors didn't know if she would survive, let alone walk or talk again. Her friends, family and community rallied around her and Brooke battled. She battled all the way back to the softball field where she caught a ceremonial first pitch and then scored a run in a game against Diamond last spring. ESPN took notice and Brooke made Sportscenter's Top 10 list. Thursday the entire community came out as Brooke and her courageous story made Sportscenter's Top 10 of the last year. The leader in sports ran live from Liberal High School with Anderson talking with an emotional Brooke Bearden. The footage will be shown during Sportscenter later today (Thursday) as well.
