Harry S Truman Birthplace begins foundation project

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger The historic Harry S Truman Birthplace is receiving a new foundation, as well as a basement and new drains after it was discovered that the original foundation was no longer able to support the structure. The home is being lifted up and moved to the east of its current location while foundation work is being completed. Although the home will be closed until after the first of the year, the site office will continue to be open during regular business hours.
