Mrs. Alexander was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Richmond, Calif., to George Thomas and Leone Marie (Smith) Howard. When she was young the family moved back to Lamar, Mo., where she graduated high school. She married Jim Alexander in June of 1960 and they moved to Kansas City, Mo. and lived in many places in the area before settling in Belton in 1971.

She worked several different jobs including Avon, Marion Laboratories, drove a bus and worked as a custodian for Blue Valley School District, Hickman Mills and then Lee’s Summit School District, retiring in 2004. After retirement she, her husband and their dogs lived together in their home in Belton until 2016 when they moved back to Lamar.

Mrs. Alexander took pride in her family and was quick to tell people how many grand and great-grandchildren she had. She loved sewing and made many items for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. Her mother lived with her for three years and together they enjoyed gardening, going places and participating in activities together.

She attended church with her husband and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior for many people and spoke with God on their behalf daily.

Connie’s family loved her greatly and she will be deeply missed.
