MARTHA SUE (PIERCE) HARE

PITTSBURG, Kan.-A memorial service will be held all afternoon on Sunday, May 3, at the Legion Hall in Lockwood, Mo. for Martha Sue (Pierce) Hare, 77, Pittsburg, a former Lockwood resident who died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Survivors include her husband, James David Hare, of the home; four children, Mark Hare, Lockwood, Mo. and Elizabeth Snider and husband Greg, Laura Hare and Michael Hare, all of Pittsburg; three brothers, Eddie Pierce, Pittsburg, Russell Dean Pierce, Unionville, VA and Richard Pierce, Altamont; seven sisters, Dorothy Lewis, Pittsburg, Marie Grassman, Tulsa, Okla., Jeanie Shaw, Greenfield, Mo., Mary Klein, Branson, Mo., Kristina Maize, Adrian, Mo., Susie Harden and Caroline Burgoon; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Robert Pierce.

Mrs. Hare was born March 9, 1938, at Lockwood, Mo., to Willis and Aretha (Berry) Pierce. She was reared in Lockwood and attended Lockwood schools. She had been a homemaker who lived in Missouri most of her life prior to moving back to Pittsburg in 2014.

She married James David Hare on July 20, 1962, in Greenfield, Mo.
