SHELDON- Graveside services will held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sheldon Cemetery for Charles Richard Hinkle, 92, Sheldon, who died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, Mo

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include his wife Joyce; one daughter, Candy Williams and husband Brad, Chariton, Iowa; three sons, Robert Hinkle and wife Judy, Waterloo, Iowa, Don Hinkle and wife Kristi, Bronaugh and Randy Hinkle and wife Valerie, Iowa Falls, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Wendy, Chad, Amy, Jason, Jessica, Jerad, Eric and Drew; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Amos Hinkle and wife Maryann, Bronaugh and Milton Hinkle and wife Mary Jane, Sheldon and one sister, Joy Snyder and husband Steve, Warsaw.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Mr. Hinkle was born June 16, 1928, in Lamar, to Ralph Hamilton and Elva Sue (Harbison) Hinkle. He married Joyce Katharan Tiedt in Lamar on Nov. 30, 1952.

He served in the United States Army and worked as a cab assembler at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa for 28 years. He was a member of the Lamar VFW and Lamar American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, throwing horse shoes and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
