Duo heads off to MSHSAA State Swim Championships

The Lamar High School girls swim team had two swimmers qualify for the MSHSAA State Swim Championships on Saturday, Feb. 20. Friends, family and teammates gathered at the high school on Friday for the state send-off for seniors Kaitlyn Davis and Meghan Watson, Coach Lyman Burr and school chaperone Jenna Baslee. The State competition was held in St. Peters. Be sure to watch the Lamar Democrat for competition results.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Sixth grade girls earn Kansas State Championship
Lockwood High School cheerleaders Kalsee Garoutte, Rachel Baugh and Mekenzi Weimer recently received Academic All-State honors. To receive Academic All-State for cheer, one must be a varsity cheerleader, have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5, be in the top 20 percent of their class and be a current senior, junior or sophomore.
