WEIR, Kan.- A memorial gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crocker Cemetery in Pittsburg, for Harold Randolph Monroe (also known to many as Randy Thomas), 75, Weir, who died Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

The cemetery is located at 8892 NE Highway 171 in Pittsburg.

Arrangements were under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Faith Tabernacle in Weir.

Survivors include four children, James Monroe and wife Diane, Tyler, Texas, Randy Monroe Jr. and wife Ruthanna, Weir, Tonya Perryman and husband Will, Lone Jack, Mo. and Treina Mortell, Big Sandy, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rosalee and a son-in-law, Joseph Sandifer.

Mr. Monroe was born Dec. 30, 1945, in the State of Missouri, to Elizabeth Val Donna Wilkerson Monroe and Harold R Monroe. He grew up in Weir and on October 22, 1966, he married his sweetheart, Rosalee Melton. In 2016 they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

He was saved at the Faith Tabernacle in Weir in 1979. He worked in construction and built several homes in the Country Club addition located across from Pittsburg High School. He also built a christian school in Joplin, Mo. in 1990. He and his wife retired to Texas after their children were grown and enjoyed antiques. They returned to Weir in 2006.
