LAMAR- A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Lamar City Park shelter, for Keith William Franklin, 56, Lamar, who died Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, in Springfield. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include his siblings, Laverne Franklin, Jessie Franklin Jr., Irene Post, Penny Reichard, Leroy Franklin and Lloyd Franklin, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Williams) Franklin; his parents, Jessie and Laverne Franklin Sr.; his twin brother, Albert Franklin; a grandson, Noah; a sister-in-law, Gaylene Franklin and a nephew, LeRoy Franklin Jr.

Mr. Franklin was born Dec. 14, 1964, in Shawnee Mission, Kan., to Jessie and Gracie “Lavern” Franklin. He was an all around good guy and a positive role model and a loving stepfather and uncle. He enjoyed helping in the community and worked the ropes at the Lamar Free Fair for about 15 years. He worked at various jobs, including building pallets at Winger and helping Ed Sims work on houses.

In general, he was a tinker and enjoyed doing a variety of things. He will be missed.
