LAMAR-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home for Martha Darlene Kincaid, 74, Lamar, who died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at K.U. Medical Center, following a short illness. Burial will be in Howell Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Barton County Senior Center.

Survivors include a son, Jonathan Kincaid and wife Kimberly, Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.; three daughters, Sherri Wakeman and husband Mark, Holden, Katherine Joseph and husband Scott, Independence and Marsha Blalock and husband Ron, Lamar; two brothers-in-law, Charles Kincaid and wife Marilyn, Independence and David Kincaid and wife Linda, Lamar; a sister-in-law, Margaret Craig and husband Jack, Coleman, Fla.; 18 grandchildren, Tiffany Jaramillo, Jessica Kincaid, John Lee Kincaid, Amber Yvonne Kincaid, Seth Kincaid, Noah Kincaid, Tyler Wakeman, Nikki Wakeman, John Padgett, Cassaundra Kincaid, Cristine Cato, Maxwell Allen, Ron Blalock, Jr., Ryan Blalock, Ben Blalock, Violet Blalock, Marcie Darlene Blalock and Ruby Anna Blalock and 21 great-grandchildren, Ireland, Evan, Dayton, Natalie, Gavin, Kinleigh, Sias, Evelyn, Madison, Bailey Jo, Darla, Jack, Ryan, Katelyn, Charles and Autumn.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawerance Edward and Leo Francis Weathermon and two sisters, Opal Marie Denny and Amy Lorene Clawson Harrington.

Mrs. Kincaid was born Dec. 5, 1940, in a log cabin near Milford, to Frank and Pearl (McMackin) Weathermon. On Feb. 28, 1960, she married Jerry Kincaid in Mindenmines and they shared 50 years together before his death on Feb. 15, 2010. Her husband's job with General Motors necessitated moving several times through the years. While living in Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Kincaid was employed at a dry cleaning company for 15 years. In Kansas City she worked for 10 years at Townley Hardware. She began a 21 year career with the U.S. Postal Service in Terry Town, N.Y., retiring in Kansas City, Kan. and moving to Lamar in 2006.

She was an active member of Newport Needle Club, Lamar Fiber Arts Guild and Minden Alumni Association. She was a member of the Calla Rebekah Lodge. She had a keen interest in genealogy and enjoyed camping and cruises with her family. She had a gift for seeing and meeting the needs of others and will be remembered by many for her generosity and kindness. She served on the board of O.A.T.S. and donated countless hours, energy and resources to the Barton County Senior Center.
