Davis receives Heartland AREA YMCA scholarship

CatTracks swim team member Kaitlyn Davis was recently selected as the female recipient for the 2021 Heartland AREA YMCA Swimming scholarship. Heartland AREA is comprised of 26 competitive teams throughout Missouri and Illinois. Each year, two graduating seniors, one boy and one girl, are chosen to receive $500 scholarships. Award winners are well-rounded student-athletes and leaders who embody the YMCA’s four core values - Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. The presentation of this award usually occurs at AREA Championships in Evansville, Ill., in March. However, the 2021 swim meet was cancelled due to COVID-related concerns. Kaitlyn, a graduate of Lamar High School, is currently a freshman at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
