Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow Lamar hosted the Class 3 District 6 track and field meet Saturday and the Tigers and Lady Tigers had a number of athletes turn in strong performances. Here Blaine Bresheares leads the pack in the 800 meter run. Also pictured for Lamar is Pierce Heins. Bresheares finished third and Heins came in eighth.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Gunner Miller, son of Sharron Miller, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Gunner plays baseball and likes playing video games in his spare time. His favorite subject is Math.

The material for the screen will be installed late next week and hopefully, after some tweaking, the Barco will open May 3.
