GOLDEN CITY- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar for Mary Juanita Potter, 78, Lamar, who died Friday, June 2, 2022. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the family to cover final expenses.

Survivors include a son, David Lowe and wife Misty, Neosho; a daughter, Angela Gibson, Golden City; brothers Bill Combs, Golden City and Larry Combs, Topeka, Kan.; sisters Teresa Hill, Topeka, Kan. and Carolyn Sue Gerths, Lamar and nieces Mendy Jo, Jennifer Sue and Elizabeth Ashley. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ethan, Lucas, Amy, Jessica, Kevin, Brandon, Corey, Becca, Katelyn, Jacob, Kaley, Conner, Ryan, Jamie and Austin and great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, David, Rhett, Landon, Adrian and Silas.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; sons Greg Lowe and Bobby Lowe and a daughter-in-law, Yolanda Lowe.

Mrs. Potter was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Lamar, to Elmer and Ruth (Hamilton) Green. She grew up and went to school in Lamar. She worked at Big Smith and then earned her CNA and worked for 13 years at Barton County Memorial Hospital and four years in home health care for Barton County.

She married Andy Lowe in 1961 and they remained married until his death in 1991. She moved to Topeka, Kan. and then to Cherryvale, Kan., where she worked for Amazon for four years. She married Billy Potter, who also preceded her in death.

She loved her little dog Holly Mae and her plants and enjoyed shopping for and wearing her jewelry. She was a storyteller who enjoyed reminiscing about family. But more than anything, she loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
