LAMAR- A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Eldora Schreckenghaust, 88, Lamar, who died Friday, Sept. 23, 2022. A graveside service will follow in the Iantha Cemetery.

Survivors include her sons, John McNaught, Bartlesville, Okla., Steve McNaught and wife Becky, Aurora, Roy “Jeff” McNaught and Sue McDaniel, Cincinnati, Ohio and Ray McNaught, Lamar; granddaughter, Mike McNaught and wife Erin, Matt McNaught and wife Mirann, Sunnie Miller and husband Scott, Kala Brown and husband Clayton, Brian McNaught, Colin McNaught, Sarah McClintock and husband Josh, Derek McNaught and Cheyenne McNaught; 20 great-grandchildren and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband and 10 siblings, Ruth, Mary, Jack, Betty, Earnest, Eugene, Elwood, Colleen, Pete and Bill.

Mrs. Schreckenghaust was born March 31, 1934, in Iantha, to Ernest John and Freda (Morgan) Percy. She was a 1953 graduate of Liberal High School. After high school she married Roy McNaught. They lived in Oklahoma and had four sons. He was a traveling depot agent for the Frisco Railroad and she was a homemaker.

Later, she and her four sons moved back to Liberal, where she attended and graduated from Pittsburg School of Cosmetology. She opened Cut and Curl Beauty Shop in Liberal, operating her business for 45 years until she retired. She married Roger Schreckenghaust on May 27, 1972 and they remained dedicated to each other until his death in 2014. She was a hard worker and kept busy in her retirement by babysitting in her home and working as a Walmart greeter. She was dedicated and loved her family. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Liberal.
