Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow Golden City senior Kyndall Scott takes the ball to the bucket in last week's 75-50 Class 1 playoff loss to Macks Creek at Bolivar. Scott scored 32 points in her final game in gold and black. She finished as Golden City's all-time leading female scorer. Look for a story over the contest in next week's edition.

The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A total of $3600 was raised at the car and jeep show held Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Lamar Christian Church Parking lot, with proceeds to benefit the new Barco Drive-In screen tower. Pictured are, left to right, Lamar Bank & Trust President Pat O’Neal, Barco Drive-In Theatre fundraiser director Landin Myers and representing the Plaza/Barco and Lamar Community Betterment, Scott Kelley.
