1st Annual Christmas Market proven to be huge success

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Shoppers found plenty those choose from at the 1st Annual Christmas Market held Thursday, Dec. 7, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Memorial Hall in Lamar. Those featuring their goods were kept busy throughout the evening as many took advantage of the opportunity to do a little Christmas shopping, or else to buy something as a treat to themselves. Also available for photo ops throughout the evening was the Good Grinch.

Drone photo by Joe Davis A capacity crowd at the Barco Drive-In was a site to behold on Friday night, July 19. According to Scott Kelley, theatre manager, sales are cut off at 310 cars and unfortunately some had to be turned away. No fears though as Twisters A Quiet Place, rated PG-13, will be playing at the drive-in every night through Thursday, July 25. An interesting note – The original Twisters movie that was released in 1996 proved to be a sell out as well.
