Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger These four men that served their country during the Vietnam Era each received a Quilt of Honor during recognition ceremonies held Friday, March 29, at the Barton County Memorial Park building. Vietnam Veterans Day is annually observed on March 29, commemorating the hardships suffered and sacrifices made by nine million Americans during the Vietnam War. Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. In his spare time Treycen likes to play football, eat, play with his brothers and sisters in his yard and mow the lawn. The junior class at Lamar High School hosted Senior Prom 2024. The event was held Saturday, April 20, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 96 Elite in Oronogo. Prior to the event, family and friends gathered to support their students as they showed off a vide variety of prom wear at the Promenade, held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Wyatt Earp Park in Lamar.
