JERICO SPRINGS-A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Greenfield Cemetery in Jerico Springs, for Leona G Baldwin, 95, a lifelong resident of Jerico Springs, who died Friday, April 29, 2016, at Nevada, Mo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brumback Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include six children, James L Baldwin, Mavis Showalter, Teddy A Baldwin, Marva J Lybeck, Donald W Baldwin and Carma A Daughtrey; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, John D Baldwin.

Mrs. Baldwin was born Dec. 21, 1920, at Jane, to John and Nellie (Beckley) Mills. She married LeRoy Alvin Baldwin in August of 1939.

The material for the screen will be installed late next week and hopefully, after some tweaking, the Barco will open May 3.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger At the April 15 meeting of the Lamar City Council, Lamar resident Rocky McCulloch invited councilmen and the city administrator to take a tour of the pool facilities on Thursday, April 18, as Mason Banes with KC Gunite was going to do a walk through to see what repairs might entail. Several showed up to view the pools, as well as to hear possible solutions. Banes explained that he had to first find out if the damage was structural or plumbing related. Elaine McCulloch noted that hopes are to retain the outdoor lap pool and to redo the indoor pool so that it could serve as a children’s pool following the removal of the enclosure. Banes is to let the McCullochs, as well as the city, know what he would recommend and the cost it would entail.
