MILFORD-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Emma Louise Bangs, 99, Milford, who died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Truman Healthcare Center. Burial will be in Anna Edna Cemetery in Jerico Springs.

Visitation will be held prior to the service time on Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Holt, Milford; two granddaughters, Teresa Winchell and husband Terrence, Lamar and Sharon Dickey and husband Matt, Joplin and five great-grandchildren, Tristen and Taylen Winchell and Tiimothy and wife Ellisse, Stephen and Hannah Dickey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rean Bangs in 1993 and a son-in-law, Gene Holt.

Mrs. Bangs was born March 13, 1917, at Randall, Kan., to Helmer Samuel and Nellie Edna (Wells) Hoel. After graduating high school, she attended college in Springfield and majored in Art. While in Springfield she met and married Rean Donald Bangs and together they reared their only daughter, Donna. They owned and operated Bangs Greenhouse in Jerico Springs and raised Charolais cattle on their farm. As a lover of art, she was a member of the Art League and loved to paint horses. She had painted several baptistry murals for local churches. She was a member of Milford Christian Church.
