NEVADA, Mo.-A celebration of life service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at 903 Grand in Lamar for George Miler, 79, Nevada, Mo., who died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at his home in Nevada, Mo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Miler, of the home; three daughters, Diana Dennison and husband Gene, Walker, Janice Gwin and husband David, Nevada and Maryann Canet and husband John, Burns, Kan.; two sons, Terry Miler and wife Carol, Walker and Randy Miler and wife Amy, Lamar; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Raymond Lee Miler, Lamar and two sisters, Anna Mary Johnson, Casper, Wyo. and Julia Carpenter, Nevada, Mo.

He was preceded in death by one son, Daryl Dean Miler.

Mr. Miler was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Horton, to Homer and Viola Faye (Vincent) Miler. He was reared in Vernon County and was known as a “jack of all trades”. He worked at various jobs including time in the oilfields, painting water towers and truck driving. He retired as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed watching westerns on T.V. and had a quiet disposition.

He married Clara Rutherford on Oct. 17, 1956, in Great Bend, Kan.
