LAMAR-The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Daniel Funeral Home, for Betty Lou Sagehorn Peterson, 86, Lamar, who died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at Truman Healthcare Center. At 4 p.m., Rev. Galen Friedrichs will offer a closing committal and prayer.

Contributions are suggested to Alzheimer's Association, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include three sons, Kurt Sagehorn and wife Alice, Pittsburg, Kan., Brant Sagehorn and wife Dixie, Kimberling City and Kail Sagehorn, Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Kip Sagehorn and wife Holly, Pittsburg, Kan. and Kort Sagehorn and wife Jamie, Oklahoma City, Okla. and two great-grandchildren, Kearn and Alden Sagehorn.

Mrs. Peterson was born March 10, 1930, in Kenoma, to Albert Louis Arft and Dorothy Elizabeth (Cook) Arft. She was a graduate of Lamar High School and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at the Lamar Clinic before going to work in Springfield for the American Red Cross. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, as well as Eastern Star, and enjoyed pontoon boating at Stockton Lake.

She married Marvin Sagehorn on Dec. 31, 1950 and together they had three sons. He died Feb. 14, 1994. She married Curtis Peterson in 1988 and he died in 2011.
