GRANDVIEW-Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McGilley & George Grandview Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Rd., for Harold E. Byous, 81, formerly of Grandview, who died at Beautiful Savior in Belton on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

Contributions are suggested to Grace Hospice.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marlene and children, Michael Byous and wife Lysa and Brenda Nelson and husband Donnie; grandchildren, Justin, Alaina, Halle and Tabatha, and a brother, Bob Byous and wife Judy.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hollis Byous and wife Sally.

Mr. Byous was born in Grandview to Charles and Ethel (Kreeger) Byous. He lived and worked most of his life in the area; he was a barber in GV. for 35 years. He was a Mason and a member of the Christian Church.

The material for the screen will be installed late next week and hopefully, after some tweaking, the Barco will open May 3.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger At the April 15 meeting of the Lamar City Council, Lamar resident Rocky McCulloch invited councilmen and the city administrator to take a tour of the pool facilities on Thursday, April 18, as Mason Banes with KC Gunite was going to do a walk through to see what repairs might entail. Several showed up to view the pools, as well as to hear possible solutions. Banes explained that he had to first find out if the damage was structural or plumbing related. Elaine McCulloch noted that hopes are to retain the outdoor lap pool and to redo the indoor pool so that it could serve as a children’s pool following the removal of the enclosure. Banes is to let the McCullochs, as well as the city, know what he would recommend and the cost it would entail.
