The Lamar High School marching band put on another stellar field show at halftime of Friday night's football game. However, this one was even more special than usual. Members of the band acknowledged friends and family who have fought disease and illness. When the public address announcer read off a list of ailments, members of the band raised their hand to signify they knew someone who had fought that particular illness. In some cases it was the students themselves battling these major obstacles. Afterwards they performed the moving display. Here, drum major Carmen Miller leads the group.
