Sisters gather to relive childhood memories

Who says you can't go home again? Well, the daughters of Earl and Thelma Frogge did just that. Earl and Thelma were the owners of Lamar Dairy in the mid 40's and their daughters, Wilmetta, who still resides in Lamar, Carmen, from Sullivan and Jeanette from Kansas City, Mo., visited over the weekend as the three relived many happy memories of their youth. Their visit ended at the Lamar City Park where they all rode the “Health Swing”, a ride that was one of their favorites many years ago.

The junior class at Lamar High School hosted Senior Prom 2024. The event was held Saturday, April 20, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 96 Elite in Oronogo. Prior to the event, family and friends gathered to support their students as they showed off a vide variety of prom wear at the Promenade, held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Wyatt Earp Park in Lamar.

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, May 23, for both lunch and dinner, at the Lamar City Park.

Treycen Coy, son of Matthew Coy and Angie Coy, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In his spare time Treycen likes to play football, eat, play with his brothers and sisters in his yard and mow the lawn. His favorite college team is the Oklahoma Sooners and his favorite NFL team is the Kansas City Chiefs.
