Fast & Furious 8 capture first place team trophy

The “Fast & Furious 8” captured the first place team trophy at the Double Your Foolish Poolish Fun swim meet last spring. The trophy, which contains the names of all of the members of the championship team, was donated to the Fair Acres Family YMCA in Carthage. The team was made up of swimmers from Nevada, Lamar, Liberal, Carl Junction, Joplin and Columbia. Presenting the trophy to CatTracks Coach Lyman Burr are team members, pictured left to right, Aidan Reed, Mycah Reed, Macy Bean, Cody Leung, Mary Bean, Kaitlyn Davis, Abigail Holcomb and Skyler Sundy.

The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Sixth grade girls earn Kansas State Championship
Gunner Miller, son of Sharron Miller, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Gunner plays baseball and likes playing video games in his spare time. His favorite subject is Math.

The material for the screen will be installed late next week and hopefully, after some tweaking, the Barco will open May 3.
