HERMITAGE- A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, for Ellen Irene (Holstin) Fitzpatrick, 98, who died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at Hermitage Nursing & Rehab. Burial will follow in Jasper Cemetery, southeast of Carthage.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Larry Hibdon and wife Linda, Platte City, Julie McGuire and husband Bear, Wheatland and Paula Carpenter, Liberty; eight great-grandchildren, Nikki Hibdon, Zach Hibdon and Sarah Perdue, all of Platte City, Nicholas Staffieri, Kansas City, Mo., Andrea Clark, Harrisonville, Shelbie McGuire, Weaubleau, Tyler Carpenter, serving in the USMC and Faith Juwor, Liberty; nine great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Doug Hibdon, Wheatland; a niece, Joleen Phillips, El Dorado, Ark., who had stayed in close contact and special to Mrs. Fitzpatrick and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Hibdon and a son, James Fitzpatrick.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Pearsonia, Okla., to Everett and Mary (Sanger) Holstin. She had retired in 1994 from the Chickasaw Library System of Ardmore, Okla., and was librarian at the Tishomingo Library for 17 years.

She married Johnny Fitzpatrick in 1945. He died April 21, 2006.
