HOPE, Ark.- Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 10, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home for Rev. Robert W. “Bob” Mayfield, 83, Hope, who died Friday, April 7, 2017, in Little Rock. Bro. Glen Tropp and Bro. Ed Phillips officiated. Burial was in Union Cemetery at Bodcaw.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy (Peacock) Mayfield, Hope; a son, Terry Allen Mayfield and wife Carol, Jonesboro; two daughters, Deborah Elaine Alice, Hope and Robyn Ann Harmon and husband Mike, Jonesboro; a sister, Nadine Sanders, Verona, Mo.; six grandchildren, Kayla Ann DiCarlo, Nikki Alice, Amber Wilham, Erin Harmon, Jeremey Mayfield and Caleb Alice; four great-grandchildren, Madison DiCarlo, Gavin DiCarlo and Kadyn and Beau Alice; three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Edward Mayfield and Nuel Lloyd Mayfield and a sister, Arlene Wimsatt.

Rev. Mayfield was born June 20, 1933, in Iantha, Mo., to Herman Lloyd and Para Zada (Harley) Mayfield. He was a Disabled Veteran, having served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He surrendered to preach in 1970, retiring in 1992 due to health. He was a member of the Baptist Ministers Association and the BMA of Arkansas and was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hope.
