LAMAR- Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Emily Ann Blanchard, 73, Lamar, who died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, following a short illness. Burial was in Sheldon Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Good Samaritan Shop, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Kenneth; her children, Levi Hites and wife Ivy, Seneca and Elaine Cline, Kenoma; a stepson, Kerry Blanchard and wife Pat, Lamar; two brothers, George Puckett, Lamar and Roy Puckett and wife Pat, Nevada, Mo.; a sister, Donna Newton, Nevada, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, Skye Cox, Japan, Laresa Lathrop, Sheldon, Seth Cline, Lamar, James Hites, Lamar, Emily Hites, Nevada, Mo., Jene Hites, Fayetteville, Ark., Dana Hites, Fayetteville, Ark., Jason Jones, Seneca, Jeremy Bryant, Seneca, Christina Bryant, Seneca, Scott Bryant, Joplin, Josh Blanchard, Kenny Blanchard, Lamar and Arlo Ward; several great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Pam Ward.

Mrs. Blanchard was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., to Bill and Lottie Puckett. She married Kenneth Blanchard on Sept. 28, 1972, in Bentonville, Ark., and they have made their home in Barton County for many years.

In addition to being a devoted wife and homemaker, she had worked at Thorco, Rogers Rods & Lures and O’Sullivan Industries in Lamar. She used her artistic abilities in a multitude of craft projects, enjoyed decorating her yard and gardening with her husband. She took great pleasure in helping others and was a dedicated volunteer at the Good Samaritan Shop for 20 years.
