LEWIS “RED” SANDERS

LAMAR- A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Dudenville Cemetery, south of Golden City, for Lewis “Red” Sanders, 74, Lamar, who died early Thursday morning, June 15, 2017, at his home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sanders family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Martha, of the home; two daughters, Wendy Ahlberg, Lamar and Lisa Sanders, Shawnee, Kan.; two brothers, Dean Sanders, Crane and John Sanders, Joplin and three sisters, Rose Lee Westbay, Arkansas, Carolyn Wilson, Lamar and Shirley Gibson, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Tom, Dewy, David and Billy Joe Sanders.

Mr. Sanders was born May 29, 1943, in Lead Hill, Ark., to Lewis Sr. and Almedia (Waggoner) Sanders. He held a variety of jobs over the years. He was especially well-known for the abundant produce and delicious jams and jellies he sold at the local farmers market.

He married Martha Schroeder on Aug. 20, 1965, at Golden City.
