GOLDEN CITY- Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church IOOF Cemetery in Golden City, for Rosalie Casey, 93, Golden City, who died at 7:28 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Lamar. Larry Cancler officiated. “In the Sweet By and By” was sung and burial followed the service.

Arrangements were under the direction of Pugh Funeral Home.

Survivors include her seven children, Wayne Divine, John Divine, Barbara Casey Pearson, Larry Divine, Wayne Casey, Connie Divine Brown and Steve Casey; two sisters, Alveena Valentine and Mary Jane Kaderly; one brother, Marvin McKenzie and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Divine, who died on Aug. 6, 1961. She married Gaylen “George” Casey in 1967 and he died Nov. 4, 1991. Also preceding her in death were a stepson, Lyndon Casey; a sister, Mary Lou Taft and brothers, Art and Leo J. Taft and Bill and Roy McKenzie.

Mrs. Casey was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Natoma, Kan., to Ensign and Lillie Taft. She was baptized in May 1958, becoming a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She spent her married life in the Lockwood/Golden City area. She was a nursing aide in nursing homes and hospitals. She loved helping people.
