Seventh grade Lamar Tigers win Seneca Invitational

The seventh grade Lamar Tiger basketball team began its season by participating in the Seneca Invitational. The team played and beat Seneca on January 4; East Newton on January 5 and McDonald County on January 6, as they cruised on to win the 2018 Seneca Junior High Basketball Tournament Championship. The team is coached by Eric England.

Three members of the Lamar TigerSharks travelled to Siloam Springs, Ark., on June 9. Swimmers could compete in a maximum of three individual events. The top eight finishers in each event scored team points. Kaitlyn Davis won the 15-18 Girls High Point Trophy with first place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle, 200 yard IM and 100 yard freestyle. Addison Zamora finished in second place overall for 9-10 Girls. Zamora took first place in the 100 yard freestyle, second place in the 50 yard freestyle and second place in the 100 yard IM. The Lamar TigerSharks won the third place team trophy at the 2018 Nevada Neptunes Invitational, which was held on June 2 and 3, at the Walton Aquatic Center in Nevada. The team accumulated a total of 384.5 points during the weekend competition, facing 11 other teams from the Tri-State Conference.
