Seventh grade Lamar Tigers win Seneca Invitational

The seventh grade Lamar Tiger basketball team began its season by participating in the Seneca Invitational. The team played and beat Seneca on January 4; East Newton on January 5 and McDonald County on January 6, as they cruised on to win the 2018 Seneca Junior High Basketball Tournament Championship. The team is coached by Eric England.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A total of $3600 was raised at the car and jeep show held Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Lamar Christian Church Parking lot, with proceeds to benefit the new Barco Drive-In screen tower. Pictured are, left to right, Lamar Bank & Trust President Pat O’Neal, Barco Drive-In Theatre fundraiser director Landin Myers and representing the Plaza/Barco and Lamar Community Betterment, Scott Kelley.
