PERRIS, Calif.- A family graveside service will be held in Topeka, Kan., at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, for LaVerna Lee (Overstreet) Levett, 82, Perris, who died April 24, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She will be laid to rest by her husband and her in-laws.

Arrangements are under the direction of Inland Memorial, Riverside.

Memorial gifts may be sent to Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center, 6165 Industrial Ave., Riverside, CA 92504, in her memory. She loved her dogs, Prince, Romeo and especially her little wiener dog, Khloe Kardachund.

Survivors include her daughters, Kimberle Karen Rea and husband Darrell, Sheila Renee’ Spurling and husband Steven and Jacqueline Kaye Levett; eight grandchildren, Bryan, Aimee, Mallory, Courtney, Carla, Dillon, Drake and Jordan; five great-grandchildren and her little dachshund Khloe.

She married John Albert “Jack” Levett on July 19, 1958, in Topeka, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1966. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bonnie Blake, Robert Overstreet, Ruth Temple, Walter E. Overstreet, Jr., Barbara Jo Ann Haskins and James Overstreet, as well as special nieces, Micki Haskins, Penny Temple and Candace Thomas.

Mrs. Levett was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Moundville, Mo., to Walter E. and Alice R. Overstreet. She was a 1954 Liberal High School graduate. She was employed at Hallmark Production Center, where she was a card inspector and at Scotch Dry Cleaners in Topeka, Kan. She babysat in the Liberal, Mo. area while her daughters were growing up and she cared for her aging mother and her sister, Ruth Temple, until Ruth died.

Mrs. Levett spent some of the happiest years of her life living in California with her daughter Jacqueline and grandson, Jordan. She attended the Grove Christian Church in Riverside.
