Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Lamar Tigers saw Monday's district semifinal not get off to the way they'd hoped. They fell behind, allowing a pair of first inning runs before weather moved in and caused a long delay. However, when the rain and lightning cleared, the Tigers took the field and battled back to win and earn a trip to the championship game. Here they keep things loose as they wait out the weather in the dugout.

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, May 23, for both lunch and dinner, at the Lamar City Park.

Treycen Coy, son of Matthew Coy and Angie Coy, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In his spare time Treycen likes to play football, eat, play with his brothers and sisters in his yard and mow the lawn. His favorite college team is the Oklahoma Sooners and his favorite NFL team is the Kansas City Chiefs.
