CARTHAGE- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Thelma Lorene Jeffries, 93, Carthage, who died Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. Burial will follow in Morehead Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.

Contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church Carthage, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Jeffries and wife Karel, Carthage and Ron Jeffries, Joplin; two brothers, Waymon Clark and wife Barbara, Crane and Phillip Clark, Paris, Texas; two sisters, Bernice Smalley, Butler and Loeva McGinnis, San Antonio, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Kent Clark and a sister, Margaret Clark.

Mrs. Jeffries was born June 7, 1925, in Koshkonong, to Fred and Ida Alice (Brewer) Clark. She was a high school graduate and on July 14, 1946 she married Noah N. Jeffries in Stanley, Kan. and together they reared two sons. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, growing flowers and reading mystery novels.

She was a member of Carthage First Baptist Church and her faith in God was unwavering. She was committed to reading the Bible daily.
