Dingmans to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Ed and Judy Dingman of Aurora are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married October 11, 1968, in Jasper. The celebration is slated for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. The family includes Leslie and Robert James and sons Brandon and Grayson and Eric and Jill Dingman and children Hailey, Gavin and Ella. Friends and family are welcome at the come-and-go reception. The couple requests no gifts. Dingman is the son of Roselea (Clymer) Dingman McMcClintock of Lamar.

The junior class at Lamar High School hosted Senior Prom 2024. The event was held Saturday, April 20, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 96 Elite in Oronogo. Prior to the event, family and friends gathered to support their students as they showed off a vide variety of prom wear at the Promenade, held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Wyatt Earp Park in Lamar.

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, May 23, for both lunch and dinner, at the Lamar City Park.

Treycen Coy, son of Matthew Coy and Angie Coy, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In his spare time Treycen likes to play football, eat, play with his brothers and sisters in his yard and mow the lawn. His favorite college team is the Oklahoma Sooners and his favorite NFL team is the Kansas City Chiefs.
