LAMAR- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the First Christian Church in Lamar for Billie R. Peacock, 83, Lamar, who died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage. Mike Gage and Dru Ashwell will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Kim Pennell and Karen Friday and husband Robert; five grandchildren, Lindsey Loveall and husband Jeremy, Rusty Pennell and wife Ashley, Ethan Pennell, Devin Gariss and husband Sam and Camille Friday; six great-grandchildren, Meg and Aidan Loveall, Zoey and Tallon Pennell and Ava and Rhett Gariss; two brothers, Jack and Bobby Lee Peacock and one sister Peggy Mayfield.

Mr. Peacock was born at home near Irwin on Jan. 1, 1935, to Rex and Helen (Foust) Peacock. He grew up on his parent’s farm and was a 1953 graduate of Lamar High School. He worked for several local manufacturing companies, including Dickey Clay, Thorco and O’Sullivan Industries, before finally retiring in 2016 after worked in facility maintenance for the Super 8 motel.

He loved his grandkids, woodworking, fixing whatever needed fixing and the Lamar Tigers. He was a member of the Lamar First Christian Church.

He married Janet L. Davis on Nov. 11, 1954. She preceded him in death.
