First quarter Tiger Pride activity day enjoyed by many

Photo courtesy of Ann Kelley The Lamar School Tiger Pride had its first quarter activity day on October 25, rewarding students for good grades, attendance and behavior. The day started with homeroom performances. Homeroom selected a retro song and then performed it in front of the student body. Then students were released to enjoy six different rotations – a scavenger hunt, locked boxes, inflatables, minute-to-win-it activities, dodgeball and snacks and bingo. It was a fun-filled day and by looking at all the smiles, it looked as if they had a blast.

The junior class at Lamar High School hosted Senior Prom 2024. The event was held Saturday, April 20, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 96 Elite in Oronogo. Prior to the event, family and friends gathered to support their students as they showed off a vide variety of prom wear at the Promenade, held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Wyatt Earp Park in Lamar.
Senior Prom 2024 was a night to remember
Treycen Coy, son of Matthew Coy and Angie Coy, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In his spare time Treycen likes to play football, eat, play with his brothers and sisters in his yard and mow the lawn. His favorite college team is the Oklahoma Sooners and his favorite NFL team is the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Golden City PTO Carnival was held Friday, April 12. A phenomenal turnout had many enjoying the variety of festivities offered. The PTO would like to recognize all the businesses, parents and students who made this event happen.

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, May 23, for both lunch and dinner, at the Lamar City Park.
